Biography

Danny de Graan was born in Amsterdam in 1973. In 1988 he started "Digital Malfunction", a live technoband, with Marcel Jas and Jost Menke. In 1991 they changed the bands name into Cyberlab and toured troughout Germany the next few years. They released several EP's and CD's on Bionic Beat Records. In 1995 they splitup. From 1995 Danny studied Musicology at the University of Amsterdam, but switched in 1997 to Music Technology and Composition at the School for the Arts Utrecht. There he studied composition with Barbara Woof, Hans Timmermans and Marc van Vugt. In 2001 he graduated cum laude in composition. That same year he received his Masters degree from the University of Portsmouth, England. From 2002 till 2004 he studied composition with René Uylenhoet and Robin de Raaff at the Rotterdam Conservatory.
